Hematology / Oncology – Fellowship Program Director (Sayre, PA) Guthrie is seeking a visionary leader for the newly established Hematology/Oncology fellowship. This growing program has experienced early success, as evidenced by high scores from a recent in-training exam and impressive matching data for incoming fellows.
Highlights of the Position
Multi-dimensional role to include academics, administrative leadership, and clinical focus.
Integrated clinical trials capabilities currently running almost 30 clinical trials in oncology, including Alliance and pending NRG membership
Robust EHR used in all areas, including operating room (EPIC 10-Star health system, top 1% of EPIC Organizations)
Full-time Palliative Care consultation service
Radiation Oncology is available at each Cancer Center location
Embedded pharmacy with a dedicated oncology pharmacist
Candidate Requirements
Hematology or Oncology Board Certification required
Passion for teaching and mentoring physicians in training
Prior experience as a Program Director or Associate Director preferred
Minimum of 3 years as an active faculty member in academic practice
Eligibility for unrestricted PA and NY state license
Possess strong administrative and team-building skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with publications preferred

Teaching opportunities: Guthrie has 11 ACGME-accredited fellowship and residency programs. The successful candidate may also participate in medical student education. Guthrie serves as a regional campus for the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, and an academic appointment is available. Physician mentoring and leadership training opportunities available
