The Medical Director is an integral member of the ClinicalLeadership team and maintains oversight for clinical care,professional development and practice administration of thePsychiatry team. With the objectives of improving care quality,developing a high-functioning team, driving cross-functional workstreams to improve efficiency and integration, and developing astrategic vision to support care evolution, this role is criticalto Included Health’s mission to raise the standard of health carefor everyone. We are looking for a detail-oriented andoperationally-minded clinician leader who excels in a dynamicenvironment, leads with empathy, and is excited about drivingsystems-level change. The position requires dedicating 10% of timeto clinical care and 90% of time to administrative duties.
Reporting to the VP of Behavioral Health, you will supportday-to-day clinical operations on the Psychiatry team, and beresponsible for retention, performance, and quality of care. Inaddition, you will identify opportunities to create efficienciesand system-level upgrades to support clinician workflows, qualityoversight, and general practice management. Responsibilities mayinclude occasional travel, presenting at conferences or businessdevelopment calls, and participating in clinical initiatives orQuality Assurance/Quality Improvement projects. You willdemonstrate inquisitiveness, independence, a growth mindset, andthe ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence. Stronganalytical skills and the capacity to manage complex situations isnecessary. In addition, you must excel at building teams andcreating strong working partnerships across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Regularly evaluate systems, tools, and processesto ensure Psychiatrists are able to easily, efficiently andeffectively provide care Provide strategic leadership to supportgrowth and innovation on the Psychiatry team and within the greaterClinical organization Manage cross-functional projects to driveresults Partner closely with our Quality team to enhance clinicalcare, better monitor outcomes, and support clinicians in theirprofessional development Manage clinician escalations, qualityconcerns, and compliance issues as they arise Support strategicrelationships with key clients as assigned Identify acommunications strategy to ensure Psychiatrists are well-informedand able to effectively provide care on our platform Interview,onboard and train Psychiatrists Participate in external facingactivities such as webinars or conferences when required Dedicateapproximately 16 hours per month to providing clinical care Managedirect reports including assigned clinicians, as well as thePsychiatry Program Manager Provide clinical consultation andsupport professional development efforts Serve as the subjectmatter expert for Psychiatry within and external to IncludedHealth, as required Use quantitative and qualitative data andrelevant tools (e.g., Looker) to inform decisions; supportclinicians in using measurement-based care frameworks andempirically supported methods
Qualifications:
At least five yearsof independent practice as a licensed Psychiatrist Minimum threeyears of experience managing clinical teams (5 years preferred)Licensed, board-certified Psychiatrist in good standing with yourstate board(s) Active and unrestricted license in home stateQualified candidates must meet all clinical and educationalrequirements as outlined in the Clinician Employment Agreement /
Offer Letter Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
Prompt and regularattendance at assigned work location. Capability to remain seatedin a stationary position for prolonged periods. Eye-handcoordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer andother office-related equipment. No heavy lifting is expected,though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs of force (e.g., liftinga computer / laptop) may be required. Capability to work withleadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner. TheUnited States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-timeposition are: $203,330.00 – $315,160 bonus equity benefits Thisrange reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salariesfor candidates based on their respective Zone.
