This leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality, integrated healthcare and supports the clinical team in maintaining excellence in patient care.
Position Type:
Full-time (60% administrative, 40% clinical) Reports to: Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Location:
Philadelphia, PA Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Oversight:
Provide direct ambulatory care to patients (approximately 40% of role) Supervise and audit clinical staff to ensure high standards of care Participate in the after-hours call rotation
Administrative Leadership:
Collaborate with quality, nursing, and management teams to improve patient care and operations Support implementation of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives Mentor, support, and evaluate medical providers; lead onboarding and orientation Respond to patient grievances and assist with compliance matters Assist with grant writing, budget development, and provider recruitment Participate in organizational meetings and fundraising events Promote adherence to coding, productivity, and reimbursement standards
Education & Community Engagement:
Support medical education through student/resident training Engage in community service and represent Mazzoni Center in external health initiatives
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of medicine Licensed as a physician in the State of Pennsylvania and will maintain current Pennsylvania license A minimum of five years practice experience beyond residency training; preference to experience in primary care and in serving LGBTQIA+ patients Board-certified in a primary care specialty and maintains ongoing certification BLS certified Administrative, management and supervisory experience Computer literate and intimate knowledge of EMR Good oral and written communication skills are required for this position. The person in this position must be able to communicate effectively with the clients, staff, and others; and contribute to a positive environment. Physical Requirements Summary:
This position primarily involves sedentary work, with occasional walking or standing. Physical activities may include kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking long distances, speaking clearly, hearing spoken information, and performing repetitive hand or wrist motions. The role may require lifting or moving up to 35 pounds. Employees must meet vaccination requirements, including tuberculosis screening and Hepatitis B immunity, per Mazzoni Center policies.
