Job Description
The regional medical director (RMD) is charged with overseeing corporate contractual commitments for provision of services to clients, including assurance of compliance with contractual obligations, physician staffing requirements, and fiscal affairs related to these commitments.
Responsibilities include leadership, coordination of medical directors and staff physicians, compliance and coordination of periodic contract re-negotiations with the national medical director, consultants, and/or medical directors, and the coordination and direction of the business development effort in the region.
The RMD is responsible for overseeing corporate medical service contractual obligations of specified hospitals and/or other designated entities.
If you are board certified in emergency medicine (EM), internal medicine (IM), or family medicine (FM) with 5 to 10 years of leadership experience directly managing physicians, you’ll make a great fit.
In this role, you can live where you want and oversee emergency medicine/hospital medicine sites in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Washington State.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides leadership for contracts (variability depending upon geography/complexity/system relationship)Working in a paired leadership model with a VPO, the RMD team is the primary TeamHealth contact with the client’s administrative and EM/HM leadershipServes as primary driver for obtaining client and TeamHealth operating metric goals to include clinical and financial key performance indicatorsDeploys value-added services and innovation to clientsAlong with dyad partner, attends a mix of virtual and in-person client meetings on a monthly to quarterly cadence, requiring travelConducts and participates in triad rounding meetings (VPO/RMD/FMD) with each FMD, no less frequent than monthlyWorks a maximum of 6-8 clinical shifts/month during weekdaysPerforms other duties as assigned and included in formal job description
