General Summary:

The Medical Director provides clinical andoperational guidance and leadership for Employer Health Servicesdivision and Team Member Health. He or she will assist indeveloping the long-term strategy and short-term tactics for thegrowth and development of the service line and for improvement ofthe health of the population we serve via engagement in thedevelopment of clinical standards of care. Participate inrecruitment and on-boarding of new providers, including performancefeedback and coaching as needed to ensure positive professionaldevelopment and retention. Lead/support development of quality initiatives and other programsto continually improve cost-effectiveness and quality of servicesand patient and client satisfaction Support efforts of administrative and marketing personnel to securenew and maintain existing business as required. Identify newaccounts to meet growth strategies and communicate information tothe BHMA leadership team. Providing consultative services in occupational health, includingprovision of medical director services to client companies and inthe development of onsite programs that focus on a healthylifestyle. Serve as the designated physician and advanced practice cliniciansupervisor for BHMA Occupational Medicine clinics, onsite programs,and Business Health team members, unless otherwise provided byother physicians contracted with BHMA. Serve as the Medical Review Officer ( MRO ) for the program. MROduties include, but are not limited to, receiving and reviewinglaboratory results generated by an employer s drug testing programand evaluation of medical explanations for certain drug testresults; interpreting forensic drug testing results in the contextof a regulatory and policy framework; and assisting companies withmedical monitoring of OSHA Regulated Chemicals, oversight oflaboratory tests to monitor employee exposure limits over a periodof time and making medical evaluations/recommendations to preventcontinued exposure in the workplace. Supervise the medical review process and substance abuse testingprograms offered by BHMA throughout Tennessee and Virginia, toinclude supervision of the Medical Review Officer Assistant ( MROA).

Education/Experience:

Valid and active Medical Licensure in TN and VA (will helplicense if needed) Valid and active Board Certification for OccupationalMedicine Medical License free of sanctions from any healthcare entityand payer DEA clear of any restrictions or recent sanction DOT and MRO certifications required; others may be needed asmarket needs shift Five years minimum clinical experience

Knowledge/SkillsAbilities:

Self-motivated, strong communication and analytic skills,ability to communicate with all levels and recommend decisions in atimely manner, excellent organizational skills and an ability tomanage multiple priorities.
