Full Job Description Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Radiation Dosimetrist to join our healthcare team. The primary role of the Radiation Dosimetrist is to design and implement radiation treatment plans based on the radiation oncologist’s prescription. The Dosimetrist will work closely with the radiation therapy team to ensure accurate and effective treatment delivery.

Responsibilities:

Develop and oversee radiation treatment plans for external beam photon care. Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Provide training to radiation oncology staff and aid in special procedures and brachytherapy care planning. Obtain and analyze the appropriate information needed to draft effective therapy plans. Communicate with the radiation and larger oncology team to successfully implement treatment plans and perform follow-up therapy as needed. Assist in radiation therapy and supervise radiologists. Use specialized medical equipment to locate tumors, including MRIs, CT, and PET scans. Set up medical equipment and provide image guidance to physicians during surgeries, offering technical support as needed. Verify all mathematical calculations are correct using appropriate tools while drafting treatment plans. Educate themselves and colleagues by attending workshops and following current research projects, as well as helping create new techniques and devices to assist them.

Requirements:

MDCB Certified Medical Dosimetrist. Degree in a Physical Science or Radiation Therapy Technology. Prior leadership experience is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
