Veterinary Administrative Support Blandford Animal Hospital 46 Woronoco Road, Blandford, MA 01008 Job Summary Blandford Animal Hospital is looking for 1 part time receptionists to join our front desk team. We are a smaller, independent but busy small animal practice. Our receptionists are the first point of positive relations with our clients. Client communications include phone calls, e-mail and inter-personal interactions. Responsibilities are related to scheduling appointments, making appointment reminders the day prior, checking patients in for appointments and invoicing out when leaving. Patient and client files are maintained with the EzVet veterinary practice software. Referral records are scanned and uploaded to Email is monitored for pet internet pharmacy requests, veterinary referral reports and pharmaceutical vendor correspondence in addition to questions addressed to the doctors. Many requests arrive via fax machine. Prior experience in a veterinary practice is not essential. Experience working with the general public is expected; training specific to the veterinary profession can be provided. Interpersonal skills and work ethic are as important as technical skills. Continued employment is subject to 30 and/or 60 day performance evaluation. Compensation is related to prior experience and any specific veterinary medicine experience. Starting salary is approximately $18.00 per hour then increasing yearly. Merit based increases are also possible in addition to annually. Benefits include 401K after 1 year of employment but also requires 1000 hours time worked per annum. Paid vacation time is included after 1 year for full time employees.
