Job Description
Provide services to patients of all ages within compliance regulations. Communicate appropriately with the public, visitors, physicians, patients and other employees, including courteous, professional telephone etiquette. This position is accountable for the coordination of laboratory’s front office, phones calls, receiving specimens, logging into LIS, bar-coding, taking specimens to appropriate work area. Responsible for the work flow of front office. Maintain an orderly work flow in a timely and accurate manner within the required quality control program to ensure quality patient care in a “high-touch” manner. Performs clerical duties, charting, processes specimens for reference labs, tracking and packing of specimens. Contact nursing service of recollections and take clinic specimens to out- patient for hospital number. Order supplies from reference labs. Operate copier, typing for department, audits, sorts, files, lists and logs. Maintenance of all office equipment. Accountable for smooth office operation. Logging of morgue. Good communication skills. Ten hours of continue education each year.
