Job Description:

The Clinical Manager at SAVES is responsible for setting standardsfor all clinical staff. They will manage day-to-day functionsincluding onboarding, training, skill assessments, communication,departmental rounding, staff meetings, operational efficiency, andcontinuing education of all clinical staff. Additionally, they willcultivate a positive relationship with the referral communitywithin a given territory by bringing an understanding and respectfor all Hospital philosophies. The Clinical Manager is accountablefor setting long-term goals and facilitating growth of clinicaldepartments. They will collaborate with their peers and serve assecond in command to the Hospital Director.

Essential JobFunctions:
  • Responsible for implementing appropriate standards ofcare, in accordance with the medical standards set forth by theMedical Director.

Outline training plans for each service andstaff, and provide monthly updates to the Hospital Director.

Coordinate training sessions: Create training agenda, trainingmaterials, and sign in sheets for all sessions. Hold bi-monthlymeetings with all clinical staff to review clinical performance,training needs, individual and team Goal progression, individualmorale and self-care opportunities.

  • Conduct daily, weekly, andbi-weekly meetings with Hospital Director, Medical Director, and/orTeam Leads to discuss providers, staff, patients, clients,equipment, medication, operations, & other pertinent informationregarding patient care as well as provide guidance and addressneeds and issues in the department.
  • Maintain communication withnew hires and direct supervisors to ensure guidance iscomprehensive and thorough during the training period. Chooseappropriate training methods based on situational needs (classsetting, simulated, mentoring, hands on training). Ensure that allclinical personnel are appropriately trained to function withintheir respective service.
  • Set clinical staff expectations andgoal manage disciplinary needs in a timely manner, while upholdingthe Ethos Veterinary Health Core Values.
  • Administer andcoordinate the Veterinary Student and Technician Extern program;and serve as the primary contact.
  • Coordinate visits to medicaldepartments and staff and complete required paperwork for eachstudent. Communicate and coordinate activities with students beforeand during externship. Coordinate training and confirm all studentsand the hospital are adequately supported.
  • Support HD with allclinical aspects of the practice, as needed.
  • Perform other jobduties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Credentialed VeterinaryTechnician required.
  • Minimum 1 year of management experience, 2years ideal.
  • Highly focused and results oriented, able to setgoals and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Tactful,professional demeanor and presentation style.
  • Strong work ethicand a positive attitude.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt tonew situations.
