Description Summary:

This position is responsible for theoperation of physician practices usually consisting of 4-7providers, 10-20 FTEs or more than three sites. The position isresponsible for, but not limited to, managing subordinatepersonnel, preparing clinic(s) budget, ensuring data accuracy,preparing financial analyses, handling complex customer serviceissues and maintaining provider/staff communications.

Responsibilities:
  • Establishes/implements goals, objectives,policies, procedures and systems for the assigned administrativeareas.
  • Assists with developing and implementing annualoperational plan and budget.
  • Selects, trains, orients andsupervises clinic personnel in accordance with established policiesand procedures. Responsible for work assignments and dailyoperations. Manages personnel for multiple practices, includingtraining relief employees.
  • Evaluates performances and recommendsmerit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions in a timelymanner. Interviews and recommends hiring and termination of staffin accordance with approved policies.
  • Resolves problems inadministrative areas and ensures compliance with regulations andstandards.
  • Helps fiscal management and other administrative staffin implementing cost effective policies and procedures for alloperational areas including bookkeeping, billing, insurance, feeschedules, credit/collections, purchasing, data processing andspace planning.
  • Works in conjunction with Regional Director andcorporate Marketing Department in practice development.
  • Ensuresthe effective implementation of job descriptions, personnelpolicies and payroll practices.
  • Monitors and controls clinicexpenditures within budget. Identifies and implements costreduction opportunities.
  • Serves as liaison between clinic andexternal agencies.
  • Works with staff and providers to ensurequality patient care and services are provided. Maintain effectivecommunication with providers and staff; conducts monthly meetingswith providers and staff. Create a positive work place.
  • Gathersand reports monthly and annual data for fiscal, statistical andplanning purposes. Develops and implements revenue enhancementstrategies for existing practice(s).
  • Participates in professionaldevelopment activities to keep current with health care trends andpractices.
  • May be responsible for assuring all appropriatelicensure, certifications and/or accreditations are securedaccording to policy.
  • Follows the

Health guidelinesrelated to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure ofProtected Health Information (PHI).

  • Maintains strictconfidentiality and keeps information on a need-to-know basis.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • High School or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Will consider 6 years of PracticeManagement experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’sdegree in health care or business administration preferredExperience
  • Four or more years of clinic management experience.

Additional appropriate education may be substituted for three yearsof clinic management experience.

  • Effective communication andprioritization of provider issues
  • Competent in financialreimbursement, billing and collections, CPT, ICD9 and HCPCS coding,medical group operations, and managed care concepts
  • Ability torecognize and communicate variance in key practice indicators
  • Must be computer literate and have strong organizational skillsLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • CMOM highly preferred
