Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Records & Authorization Specialist. _ As a Records Specialist _, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology and experience working in a medical office setting.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Organize and maintain patient records in accordance with established procedures
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all medical records
  • Retrieve and file medical records as needed
  • Assist with the release of medical records to authorized individuals or organizations
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation of patient care
  • Assist with data entry and record management tasks as assigned As Authorization Specialist you will review and coordinate the authorization process for any services that require an authorization per payer guidelines.

You will be responsible for Coordinating, tracking and documenting all authorizations electronically.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Contact insurance company to see if authorization is needed. Obtain authorization and document in chart Work with Medical Assistants and advise them of the status of authorization Maintain copies of request and the results Perform related work as required and other projects and duties as assigned Assist in insurance verification process Contact patient to obtain accurate insurance information

Experience:
  • Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical record documentation
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other record management software
  • Eclinical Works a Major Plus
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
