Responsibilities Manage incoming and outgoing patient referrals in a timely manner. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services. Ensure all referral documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA standards. Utilize medical coding knowledge (ICD-10, ICD-9) to accurately code referrals. Maintain organized medical records and ensure proper documentation practices. Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care effectively. Assist patients in understanding their referral process and answer any questions they may have. Stay updated on managed care policies and procedures relevant to referrals. Provide support in the dental office setting as needed, ensuring smooth operations. Experience Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in roles related to medical coding or referral management.
