The Medical Records/Billing Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by ensuring that patient records are accurately maintained and billing processes are efficiently executed. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in medical billing and coding or a related field. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in health information management or a related field. Certification as a Medical Billing Specialist (CMBS) or similar credential. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Process billing and insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner. Assist Office Nurse with scheduling patient visits. Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
