Job Summary The Health Information Specialist preforms electronic medical record analysis, re-analysis, physician completions and suspension, acts as a physician liaison support, able to analyze Master Patient Index errors and complete MRN/encounter merges, analyze emergency room encounters and complete charging, able to review and complete release of information requests, able to correct abstracted electronic records, able to run different reports including XR or other physician reports requested by medical staff or other users. Pay Range Minimum $21.98 Midpoint $29.13 Maximum $36.28 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements. Experience •

Required:

Minimum of three (3) years acute care or OP clinical medical record hospital experience required •

Preferred:

5 years of acute care or clinic outpatient experience Education •

Required:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent •

Preferred:

Associate Degree- AS with

RHIT/CCA

Specialized Skills •

Required:

Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, Ability to correspondences and communicates at many levels, and medical record documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology. Able to use computer, printer, scanner and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position; Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. •
