General Description:

The Office Personnel reports to the Sleep Center Supervisor. The Sleep Center Office Personnel is responsible for preparing and facilitating medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy in preparation for patient appointments. The Office Personnel will assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments. It is the duty of the Sleep Center Office Personnel to answer incoming calls, scan documents into EMR, and fax records to appropriate medical facilities. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

Answers and delegates telephone calls. Provides follow through service and performs tasks required to complete caller’s requests. Performs tasks to facilitate internal and external department communication. Retrieval and lookup of records, faxing and sending, and scanning to EMR. Prepares and organizes daily testing schedule and charts from Meditech prior to patient’s arrival. Reviews patient clinical records for record completion standards. Identifies and flags deficiencies for completion. Routes records to appropriate medical staff Maintains and organizes all department records and files. On a daily basis, notifies reading physicians and/or physician offices of studies waiting to be interpreted. Files clinical patient information including sleep study results, clinical notes, diagnostic and social information etc. in the appropriate medical record within established time parameters and accuracy. Assists with process improvements and other department projects. Performs similar or related duties as assigned Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area.

Requirements:
Formal Education:

High School diploma or GED required.

Work Experience:

Minimum of one 1 to 2 years experience

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:

BLS from American Heart Association may be required
