Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH), in Chipley, FL, is seeking a FT experienced, energetic and dedicated Medical Records Clerk to join our growing Business Office!
General Summary:
Organizes and evaluates patient medical records and health information; reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness; responsible for filing and retrieving medical records; ensures all medical records are released according to HIPAA guidelines Direct working relationship with patients and their families, local physician, hospital clinical and billing staff. Frequent contact with other physicians and office staff. Important contacts with external agencies, including auditors, Agency for Health Care Administration, health inspectors and medical staff of other facilities. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal communication, customer service, critical-thinking skills; knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures of health information management; familiar with functions, capabilities and operation of computer-based health information management systems.
Education:
High school diploma or its equivalent required
Experience:
A minimum one (1) year experience in healthcare setting with in-depth knowledge of health information management preferred. Licenses, Certifications and/or
