Summary of Performance Expectations:
Responsible for gathering, processing and transmitting protected health information (PHI) ensuring compliance with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements.
Education & Credentials:
Required Health Information Technology certification or High School diploma or equivalent and extensive knowledge and demonstrated Health Information Management (HIM) experience. Preferred Associate degree in Health Information Technology.
Work Experience:
Required Three years of healthcare experience utilizing an electronic medical record system. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date. Preferred Experience related to release of information concepts.
