Medical Office Assistant Modern Vein Providers Waterford, CT 06385 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Spanish speaking Office/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient service, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position is essential for supporting both front desk operations and clinical staff while adhering to HIPAA regulations. This role requires 24-30 hours per week, with workdays scheduled Monday Tuesday and Thursday between 8 AM and 6 PM local time zone . Responsibilities Perform documentation review to ensure accuracy and compliance with medical standards. Manage front desk duties, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and answering phone inquiries. Maintain organized medical records and files, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date and secure. Provides assistance to physician and ultrasound tech; Obtain vital signs, and measurements Obtaining before and after picture and uploading them into the patient chart Processes prescription requests and referrals Special project as assigned by office Manager Utilize Athenahealth software for patient management and coding tasks. Support office management functions by maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient patient care. Experience Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred. Proficiency in using Athenahealth or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing files and records. Excellent communication skills to provide outstanding patient service.
