The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, providing exceptional patient service, and ensuring the smooth running of the office. This role requires proficiency in medical billing, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, making it essential to have strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor. This role will most often require the employee to work the phones, answering questions, scheduling appointments, and handling billing. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes. Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries. Verify patient insurance information and perform insurance verification as needed. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process medical billing using ICD-9 codes and manage billing inquiries from patients. Assist with office management tasks including inventory management of supplies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient service delivery. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is a plus. Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient service. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks. Basic knowledge of office management practices is an advantage.
