The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment. Duties Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10. Review patient records and ensure that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate for billing purposes. Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving any discrepancies or issues with insurance providers. Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any billing issues or questions related to patient accounts. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies to ensure compliance. Experience Previous experience in medical billing, coding, or collections is preferred. Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding and other relevant billing systems is advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy medical office setting.
