$42.7K – $60.8K a year 16 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Writing skills Medical office experience Mid-level Microsoft Office High school diploma or GED CPT coding 1 year Full Job Description Description Job Summary Assist Physician(s) and staff with daily coordination of patient care, surgeries, and access. Primarily responsible for supporting clinical practice staff with surgical scheduling and obtaining authorizations. Job Specific Dutie Scans surgical sheet to patient chart under surgery documentation. Coordinates with facility to process paperwork: clearance’s, demographics, etc. Schedules surgery appointment. Distributes/updates Outlook OR schedule daily as changes are made. Processes all surgical cases for physician practice, including insurance verification. Searches for ICD/CPT code when not provided. Obtains necessary authorization for all surgical procedures. Coordinates surgeries with outside physicians. Coordinates prior hospital admissions if associated with surgical procedure as needed. Arranges and coordinates Gamma Knife surgical procedures in outside facilities. Protects patient medical records and Merge MRN via HIM. Posts all surgeries in the Pre-Operative Surgical Scheduling Form for all departmental physicians. Maintains confidentiality of patient and company related business. Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparations and any other directional information needed; takes appropriate action in responding to questions from patients. Schedules all surgical patients for pre-operative appointment, and scans surgical documentation into EMR. Schedules pre-op and post-op testing appointments when needed. Advises appropriate staff when patient starts in Radiology, needs to be admitted the day before surgery, needs pre-op on morning of surgery, etc. Enters notes/special instructions needed when scheduling procedure. Assists other members of the department as needed. Interfaces with appropriate vendor staff to ensure all necessary equipment will be on site for office and hospital-based procedures, including scheduling with contracted anesthesia groups. Interfaces with appropriate staff to ensure a cohesive working relationship in providing patient care serves. Qualifications Minimum Job Requirements 1-3 years Physician/medical office experience 1-3 years Surgical scheduling and authorization request experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High school education or equivalent preferred. Word, Excel, Outlook. Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with clients and co-workers. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
