Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED MA Certification Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years working as a Front Desk in a medical practice Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific:
Welcoming patients, families and visitors in a friendly, courteous and caring manner. Performs administrative and general office functions including, but not limited to, copying, filing, faxing and data entry. Answer telephone calls, provides information, screens and routes telephone calls to the appropriate person or department. Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, diagnostic tests, and other health related appointments. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Obtain patient authorizations as needed. Responsible for the Patient Check In process to include: Obtaining, or verifying and updating patient demographic information Responsible for the Patient Check Out. Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and Physician Assistant. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including composure, diplomacy, and the ability to act with a diverse patient population. Manage confidential employee information in a professional manner. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Effectively time-manage job responsibilities; Organize workflow and documentation. Responds to medical emergencies and solicits immediately. Other duties assigned by Practice and Clinical area.
