Job Description
Medical Secretary Flagler Family Medicine Saint Augustine, FL 32086 We are seeking an organized and dependable Medical Office Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Check-Out:
Efficiently manage the patient check-out process, including processing payments and providing necessary paperwork.
Processing Referrals and Authorizations:
Process and track patient referrals, obtain necessary authorizations from insurance companies, and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
Schedule Lab and Diagnostic Testing:
Coordinate and schedule lab work, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments, ensuring patients are informed of any requirements. Provide Patients with
Orders:
Prepare and provide patients with lab orders, imaging orders, and other necessary documents. Collaboration with
Physicians and Medical Team:
Work closely with physicians and the medical team to ensure effective patient care and communication.
File and Maintain Medical Records:
Establish, organize, and maintain patient files and medical records in accordance with office and regulatory standards. Process Documents from
Fax Server:
Receive, process, and manage incoming documents from the fax server in a timely manner.
Answer Phones:
Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department or staff member. Communication with
Other Medical Offices:
Communicate with other healthcare providers and medical offices for patient referrals, test results, and coordination of care.
General Administrative Duties:
Perform various office-related duties such as filing, faxing, and assisting with any other tasks as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical office training or certification is a plus. Previous experience in a medical office setting, preferably in a primary care environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize tasks in a busy environment. Proficiency in office software and EMR systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Professional and friendly demeanor with patients and teammates.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$16.50 – $19.50 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
