Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Specialist to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a key part in creating a welcoming environment for patients while managing front desk operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a healthcare team focused on providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check in patients with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient registration using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Handle inbound calls, answer patient inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate departments.
  • Process patient check-outs, including collecting payments and addressing outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate and organized patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and communication.
  • Address billing inquiries and assist with basic billing functions as needed.
  • Utilize healthcare software such as Allscripts, Cerner, or NextGen to manage patient information.
  • Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Requirements
  • Previous experience in a medical front desk or similar administrative role.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems such as Allscripts, Cerner, NextGen, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Ability to handle billing functions and manage outstanding patient balances.
  • Familiarity with dental or medical software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is preferred.
