Our practice is dedicated to evaluating and treating both acute and chronic knee pain through noninvasive treatments. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Medical Receptionist. Candidates must be detail-oriented, be able to multitask, have a pleasant personality, be a team player, and possess professional etiquette. The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in our medical office and in many respects, is the “face of the company.” This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
DUTIES:
Answering phone and handling patient calls Scheduling and confirming patient appointments Completing the new patient registration process, in person, or via e-mail electronically. Create and update Patient Accounts in EMR, including demographic and insurance information. Greeting patients/checking-in and checking-out patients Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits with health plans Obtaining referrals, pre-certification/pre-authorizations, as required Collecting co-payments, co-insurances, deductibles, balances, etc… at or prior to service Scanning and sorting medical records in appropriate location in EMR Documenting in EMR, including management of tasks module Managing fax inbox(es), both in EMR and standard fax Communicating and collaborating with other health team members Cross-training with other team-members, based on practice needs Posting charges and payments in EMR Completing and submitting accurate End-of-Day reconciliation utilizing EMR Receiving inventory shipments and restocking shelves as well as keeping track of office supplies inventory Other administrative duties assigned based on practice needs
REQUIREMENTS
1-2 years of medical office experience Prior EMR/EHR software experience with medical terminology and coding exposure Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office Word, Excel and Gmail-Drive Exceptional customer service and communication skills, verbal and written Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
