The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing the administrative tasks of a busy medical office. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Duties Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date. Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members. Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently while verifying insurance information. Assist with the management of medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Utilize electronic health record systems such as Dentrix, Epic, or eClinicalWorks for data entry and retrieval. Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure smooth operations within the medical office. Provide support in billing and coding processes as needed. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Allscripts PM) is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on patient care. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in computerized systems for health information management. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office management is a plus.
