Job Description

Medical Secretary – Neurosurgery at MaineHealth in Scarborough, Maine, United States Job Description Description Office location: 92 Campus Drive, Scarborough
After successful completion of training, one day of remote working may be offered, subject to surgeon’s schedule. We are seeking a medical secretary to join our fast-paced neurosurgical office to support our surgeons and advanced practice practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:
Phone Management:

Make, receive, and document phone calls with patients and other healthcare professionals. Direct calls to appropriate team members as needed.

Appointment Scheduling:

Independently manage surgeon schedules, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Insurance Authorization:

Obtain and follow up on insurance pre-authorizations.

Patient Communication:

Coordinate appointments, provide updates, and communicate pre-surgical instructions.

Team Collaboration:

Work independently, but collaborate with the medical team to ensure smooth operations.
After successful completion of training, one day of remote working may be offered, subject to surgeon’s schedule.
