Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Unit secretaries play a vital role in the healthcare industry because they support a wide range of individuals, including patients and other medical professionals. The Nursing Unit Secretary performs clerical, receptionist, and transporter duties. The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong customer service skills, effective communication skills, and have the ability to multi-task. The Surgical Oncology Unit (R4) cares for a variety of surgical oncology specialties, such as complex Upper and Lower GI, GYN Oncology and Head and Neck. This unit also serves as an acute medical/surgical unit which includes 12 Intermediate Level Care beds.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
License/Certifications:
Current BLS certification preferred or may be required based on location.
Experience:
Three years of secretarial experience with at least one year within MaineHealth required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Nursing Unit Secretary I role.
