The Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) specializes in the post-operative care of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients including ECMO, VAD, and transplants. Our high acuity patient volume allows for low nurse-patient ratios promoting safety and satisfaction of patients, families, and staff. Patients are supported by a multidisciplinary team providing the latest evidence-based practice, procedural techniques, and complex surgical procedures with advanced technology. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Unit Secretary performs clerical duties supporting the operations of the patient care team. Responsibilities Supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support. Transcribes physician orders as appropriate with close attention to detail. Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures. Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.
