Medical Office Receptionist Job Responsibilities:
This position is the face of the company and covers the front desk responsibilities by ensuring someone is greeting clients at all times. The position is fast-paced and includes, medical scheduling, answering client questions, supporting waiting clients, answering phones, collecting co-pays, mail collection, verification of insurance benefits, and assisting with other office tasks requested by the team. Applicants should be highly organized and prepared to manage client registrations and create client files in an electronic health record while managing

precautions in an exceptionally fast-paced mental health office.
Medical Office Receptionist Job Duties:
Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone. Schedules appointments for testing, intake, OT, speech, outpatient mental health clinic, and other departments as assigned. Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by gathering registration information for appointments. Possesses baseline mental health/psychology knowledge for management of interpersonal interactions with clientele. Forwards messages to other staff members for follow-up. Keeps patients’ appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival and informing provider of appointment delays. Engages regularly with administrative staff to share financial/collections updates, phone call reports from clients, and other details as appropriate. Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions and maintaining the reception area. Maintains lobby and waiting room areas ensuring they are clean and functional. Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes to supervisor. Unlocks and locks office as appropriate based on agreed upon schedule. Manages collections from delinquent clients as assigned. Verification of client insurance benefits on the day of service. Run errands to the post office and other locations for administrative needs as assigned.
Medical Office Receptionist Skills and Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a criminal background check Must be able to pass a DMV background check Excellent communication and teamwork skills Necessary skills: Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Telephone Skills, Customer Service, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Professionalism, Quality Focus, Punctuality Schedule NINH offers a 4 day work week for all staff. The Medical Office Receptionist role is a standard Monday through Thursday, 8am to 6pm schedule. Timeliness is important as the first clients of the day often begin at 8am. The Medical Office Receptionist is expected to be prepared to greet and check in by 8am. The pay rate starts at $15/hr and is commensurate with experience
