West New York, NJ 07093 Ophthalmology practice in West New York, a member of ECOA, is seeking a part-time front desk receptionist to join our medical practice. To define part-time, it is 29 hours or fewer in a work week. The ideal candidate will possess an engaging personality with the ability to maintain professionalism and organization in a busy environment. This customer-oriented individual must speak English, Spanish is a plus. They will meet the following job description and possess the following skills. Experience is a plus; we are willing to train the right individual who possesses the right personality for this role. Qualifications High School Diploma, higher education is a plus Customer service experience is a plus Medical terminology knowledge is a plus Computer skills are a must (Please list programs you are proficient in)
Job Description:
The Medical Receptionist position provides the patient with their initial experience of the practice. Therefore, the individual is expected to provide exceptional customer service to the patients, guests, and vendors. This individual is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of patient information, both over the telephone and in person, and responds to patients’ needs. Primary Responsibilities /
Skills :
Greets patients when entering the practice Obtains accurate and updates patient demographic and insurance information Educates patients on health insurance participation rules Schedules in-office appointments for new and existing patients Performs insurance verification when needed Answers, prioritizes, and transfer calls through a screening process Able to Multi-Task Communicate with patients waiting for service Collects co-pays and outstanding balances with confidence Performs follow-up services for patients in a prompt and courteous manner, such as scheduling follow-up appointments and confirming the Doctor’s orders Files and maintains paper medical charts when needed ( we are electronic mainly) Daily clerical tasks Maintains up-to-date departmental manuals and files Adheres to the standards identified in Employee Policy Manual Cooperates with other employees to achieve specific goals Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace Employees are expected to keep up with current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements Position skills: Knowledge of medical and computer terminology Answer calls in a professional manner Experience in a medical practice is a plus Ability to keep information and workspace organized Able to navigate Electronic Health Records (Use of MDI and Athena is a plus) Possess Strong computer skills Create documents in Word and Excel is a plus Utilizing email for communications is a plus Emotional Intelligence

Benefit Conditions:
