Job Description

Description We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and personable Medical Receptionist to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service while managing the front desk operations. Your responsibilities will include scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, maintaining medical records, and ensuring an efficient and welcoming front office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:

Greet and check in patients with professionalism and friendliness, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere. +

Appointment Scheduling:

Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments while managing the provider’s calendar. +

Front Desk Operations:

Answer phone calls, manage patient inquiries, and route calls to the appropriate departments when necessary. +

Medical Records Management:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including ensuring compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. +

Insurance Verification:

Collect and document insurance information, verify coverage, and assist patients with insurance-related questions. +

Billing Support:

Process co-payments, answer billing inquiries, and collaborate with the billing department as needed. +

Office Organization:

Ensure the front office is well-maintained, stocked with supplies, and functioning efficiently. +

Coordination:

Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and patient care.

Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications:

+ Proven experience working in a medical front desk or receptionist role (preferred). + Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, such as Cerner or Epic (preferred). + Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients from diverse backgrounds. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment. + Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and remain calm under pressure. + Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus. + Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality in handling patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
