FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST AND OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN

to join our practice. Our practice is an optometrist owned full-service medical optometry practice located in Elmont, NY. We provide comprehensive eye examinations, glaucoma screenings, diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, contact lenses and pediatric eye examinations. We also offer a wide selection of designer and in-house frames. Responsibilities and Skills Answering phones, scheduling and confirming patient appointments. Greeting patients upon arrival in a friendly and compassionate manner. Verify insurances and check insurance eligibility Prepare and gather necessary paperwork including patient demographics medical and vision insurance eligibilities and materials for doctors and fellow staff members Performing administrative duties as needed MUST be computer literate and be able to work with EHR software MUST have some medical terminology knowledge Perform ophthalmic testing duties. CROSS-TRAIN

motivated candidates to perform ophthalmic testing duties as required. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills with great bedside manner, be able to multi-task and work as a team player

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred) Prior experience preferred but not necessary, willing to train motivated candidates
