Medical Front Office Receptionist Lehigh Eye Specialists 1251 South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown, PA 18103 Our very busy ophthalmology practice has an immediate opening for a professional and courteous medical front office specialist. The candidate’s responsibilities include serving patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance; maintaining records and accounts, and collecting payments. We are looking for a team player who thrives in a very fast-paced environment and enjoys working directly with people. Must be proficient with an electronic medical system. Job duties include welcoming patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries; optimizing patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone; comforting patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties; answering patients’ questions; maintaining the reception area; ensuring availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records; maintaining patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information; obtaining revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims; protecting patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information; maintaining operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes; and contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
