Medical Front Desk Receptionist (job code: 033-053-020) Liberty Doctors is looking for an experienced Medical Front Desk Receptionist to work full-time at Simple Medicine located in West Ashley area of Charleston, SC. The hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Location:

Simple Medicine, 1064 Gardner Rd, Suite 105-106, Charleston, SC 29407 We are a busy fast paced practice that is expanding and we are looking for a dedicated multitasker and a team player who has customer service skills and is willing and able to learn all positions in the practice to include but not limited to registration, check-in/check-out, referrals, insurance verification, authorizations, rooming patients, taking vitals, answering multi line phones, scheduling appointments, filing, scanning medical records and charting. A knowledge of EHR , basic office skills with good communication and telephone technique, medical insurance verification, and a minimum of 1 year medical office experience.

Medical Receptionist Job Responsibilities:

Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts. Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries. Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone. Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying our provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays. Comfort patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area. Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims. Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs. Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes. Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
  • Excellent phone etiquette with patients
  • Previous experience with Electronic Health Record software is necessary. We are currently using Aprima
  • Previous experience collecting and posting patient copays and balance payments
  • Referral experience, outgoing referrals as well as incoming new patient referrals
