Medical Receptionist Experience Required Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary payments
- Insurance Authorizations
- Maintain daily / weekly patient records and update information as needed
- Assist with tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using phone systems and basic computer applications
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
