The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and proficiency in various healthcare software systems. Duties Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures. Collect patient co-pays and verify insurance information. Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers. Verify patient insurance information, including Medicare and other insurance plans. Process patient records and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic health record system. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized reception area. Skills Proficiency in insurance verification processes, including Medicare knowledge. Knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and staff. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and appointment scheduling software Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a positive attitude in a busy environment. Spanish speaking is a plus.
