Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Receptionist to join our Tri-State Neurology in Memphis. The ideal candidate will ensure exceptional patient care by efficiently managing front desk operations, including patient check-in, scheduling, payment processing, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
Patient Check-In and Reception:
Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner, check them in for appointments, verify personal and insurance information, and provide necessary assistance.
Appointment Scheduling:
Manage patient appointments effectively, ensuring accuracy and optimizing the scheduling system for maximum efficiency.
Payment Processing:
Collect and accurately process payments, co-payments, and outstanding balances. Handle billing inquiries and communicate effectively with the billing department.
Administrative Support:
Assist with various administrative duties such as filing, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining a tidy and organized reception area.
Patient Communication:
Provide information to patients regarding their appointments, necessary preparations, and any other relevant information they may require.
Collaboration:
Work closely with medical staff and other team members to ensure a seamless patient experience and promptly address any patient concerns or issues.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus. Proven experience in a similar role within a medical or healthcare facility. Proficiency in medical software systems and general computer skills. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with insurance procedures. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks efficiently, and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive patient information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a neurology or specialty medical practice. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
