Observes patient’s heart rhythm on monitors and reports significant changes or abnormal patterns of heart rhythm to nurse. Patient Care Secretary functions under direction of Nurse Manager/designee and assists in maintaining a smooth functioning unit. Qualifications for the job… Job related course work after high school of up to 12 months in specific area such as word processing with typing of 20 wpm. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Ability to interpret rhythm strips (EKGs) to be acquired during free time participation in brief vocational education program. Work requires up to six months on-the-job training to acquire necessary familiarity with department policies, procedures and forms.
