RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for performing all clerical and information technology functions for a physician in a clinic setting. This includes primary responsibility of the operation of electronic health records and electronic dictation system. Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits, procedures and treatments being performed by healthcare professionals as well as assist with providing basic patient education. Must also be able to anticipate physician needs to facilitate the flow of clinic. Medical scribes must be discreet, tactful and modest in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care. Good judgement, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important. Ability to learn and use all functions of the electronic medical record software. Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality. Other duties include assisting with patient rooming process, communicating and waits and delays to patients and clinical team; liaison between front and back office for patient communication needs. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with different software systems and touch-screen electronics. Medical terminology preferred. Proficient in typing and use of Microsoft office software.
