Med Tech 2.0 2.0 out of 5 stars 777 Roy Wall Boulevard, Rockledge, FL 32955 Certified Med Tech Job Description As a Certified Med Tech you are responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing, clinical nurses in providing accurate assistance with self-administration to our residents, while also ensuring point of care documentation within the EMAR. Responsibilities Assistance with Self Medication to our residents and following the 7 Rights of medication management. Aid with activities of daily living, when needed and not limited to all responsibilities of our Care staff. Provide resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials, answering call lights in a prompt manner, address resident requests and report observations of the residents to the nursing supervisor. Complete forms, reports, logs, and records as required. Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures. Protect organization’s values by keeping residents’ information confidential. Serve and protect the community by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements and AHCA standards. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, in-services, reading professional publications and maintaining licensure. Enhances nursing department and community’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Qualifications Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. High School Diploma or GED equivalent Knowledge of relevant nursing care. Friendly and professional bedside manner. Maintain current CPR certification. Multi-tasking skills. Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills. Understands legal implications of patient care. Certification with accredited training course. Min. 2-years’ experience preferred. Maintain valid Med Tech Certification, participating in yearly updates/certifications with accredited program. Job Related Physical Requirements Job requires good physical and mental health. Physical activities may include lifting, rotating, and assisting residents who are partially dependent for moving about. Able to move throughout community areas independently. Able to stand and walk the entire shift. Able to bend, stoop, pull & twist. Ability to lift more than 100 pounds with assistance. Potential injury from transferring, repositioning, or lifting residents. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens Possible exposure to various drugs, chemical, infectious, or biological hazards. Subject to injury from falls, burns, odors, or cuts from equipment. – Position reports to the Director of Nursing Hiring Full Time for 12-hour shifts, 7p-7a
