Full Job Description Job Summary:
PT 7am-3pm or FT/PT 3pm-11pm. Rotating weekends required. The Medication Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to residents in assisted living, hospice care, or acute care settings. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs, including those with disabilities. The Medication Technician will work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to support the health and well-being of residents. Duties Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. Observe and document residents’ responses to medications, reporting any adverse reactions or concerns to nursing staff. Maintain accurate medication records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Assist residents with daily living activities as needed, fostering a supportive and caring environment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians, to develop and implement individualized care plans. Participate in training sessions and continuing education opportunities to stay updated on best practices in medication administration and caregiving. Ensure that medication storage areas are organized, secure, and compliant with safety standards. Requirements Previous experience in a healthcare setting, such as assisted living, hospital, hospice care, or senior care is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and familiarity with HIPAA regulations. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals of varying abilities and backgrounds. Compassionate nature and a genuine desire to provide quality care for individuals with disabilities. Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain detailed records. Certification as a Medication Technician or equivalent training is a plus but not mandatory.
