This position requires a strong understanding of medical records, physiology, and acute care practices. Duties Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and protocols. Maintain accurate medical records, documenting medication administration and any changes in residents’ health conditions. Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications. Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs. Provide support and companionship to residents, ensuring their emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and organized medication storage area, adhering to safety regulations. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities related to medication administration and senior care. Experience Previous experience in senior care or caregiving is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring acute care is advantageous. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and best practices is essential. Experience with electronic medical records systems such as Cerner is a plus. Understanding of dementia care principles and techniques is beneficial. A background in nursing homes or similar healthcare settings will be highly regarded.
