Follows proper technique whenadministering medications and completes medication pass safelywithin the allotted time frame 100% of the time. Documentsappropriately and accurately all medications passed and followsestablished standards and guidelines. Maintains appropriatesupplies and equipment on the medication carts and alerts NurseManager/Designee with the need for any supplies or medications in atimely manner. Ensures that the medication cart remains locked andis properly stocked and cleaned at the beginning and end of eachshift. Monitors community members’ responses to medication andreports observations to Nurse Manager/Designee. Administers PRNmedication per policy. Continues to monitor the community members’responses to the PRN medication throughout the assigned shift andreports any uncommon behaviors or side effects the NurseManager/Designee. Works with the pharmacy provider to reorder anymedications that may be dropped, spilled, or wasted. Works safelyand uses proper procedures to minimize loss and ensure theprotection of assigned community members. Interacts and maintainseffective working relationships with all team members. Maintainsdiscretion in handling confidential information. Gives report toNurse Manager/Designee at the end of each shift and reportspertinent information with the oncoming/previous shift. Receivesand processes telephone and verbal orders for medications andtreatments as authorized to administer. Answers community members’call lights and assists with ADLs as needed. May be assigned otherduties as appropriate. Job Qualifications High school diploma orequivalent Certification as a Nurse Adie in the state you will beworking Certification as a Medication Technician in the state youwill be working Insulin certification required, or willing toobtain within six month of employment CPR certification required,or willing to obtain within six months of employment Recentassisted living experience preferred Excellent communication skillsto interact verbally with community members, visitors, and staffAbility to manage time and organize daily schedule to meetproductivity standards Ability to stand and walk for long periodsof time Ability to lift heavy objects using proper liftingtechniques and with assistance as necessary Ability to transfer andmove community members weighing 200lbs with varying abilities usingproper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary Abilityto push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using propertechniques and with assistance as necessary Manual dexterity,coordination and skillful use of hands when working with communitymembers and equipment Ability to physically perform necessarydocumentation in writing and on computer Visual acuity with theability to distinguish color Pay range: $16.08- $25.24 per hour
