Medication Technician 1.3 1.3 out of 5 stars Gastonia, NC 28054 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe administration of medications to residents in assisted living and memory care settings. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care, particularly for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The Medication Technician will work closely with nursing staff to provide high-quality care while maintaining the dignity and comfort of our residents. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and regulations. Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly. Maintain accurate medication records and documentation, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Assist in the development of individualized care plans, collaborating with healthcare professionals to meet the unique needs of each resident. Provide personal care assistance to residents as needed, including catheter care and support for daily living activities. Educate residents and their families about medication management, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence to prescribed regimens. Uphold a clean, safe, and organized environment within the facility, adhering to infection control protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medication Technician or similar is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in patient care, particularly in senior care settings such as assisted living or memory care facilities. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
