Medication Technician- Assisted Living Jurney’s Assisted Living 1942 Van Haven Drive, Statesville, NC 28625 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to residents in assisted living and memory care settings. This position requires a strong understanding of medication administration, patient care, and adherence to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA. As a Medication Aide, you will work closely with nursing staff to ensure the well-being of our residents. Responsibilities Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols. Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects related to medication. Assist with daily living activities and provide support in memory care and dementia care settings. Maintain accurate records of medication administration and resident health status. Collaborate with nursing staff to develop individualized care plans based on residents’ needs. Ensure that all practices adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in medication management and patient care. Skills Knowledge of physiology and the effects of medications on the human body. Experience in home community care, assisted living, or hospital settings is preferred. Strong understanding of dementia care principles and practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for accurate record keeping.
