Medication Technician/Caregiver Jurney’s Assisted Living 1942 Van Haven Drive, Statesville, NC 28625 Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medication Technician to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that medications are administered safely and effectively, while also supporting the overall well-being of individuals in our care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical protocols, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve. Duties Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. Maintain accurate medical documentation regarding medication administration and resident health status. Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring any changes are reported to the nursing staff promptly. Provide assistance with tube feeding and catheter care as needed. Offer support and care for residents with dementia or developmental disabilities, adapting approaches to meet individual needs. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans for residents. Assist in hospice care, providing comfort and support to residents and their families during difficult times. Uphold a clean and safe environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations. Requirements Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to medication administration. Experience or training in senior care, including familiarity with dementia care practices. Ability to perform tube feeding and catheter care competently. Strong skills in medical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Compassionate approach towards individuals with developmental disabilities, demonstrating patience and understanding. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
