Medication Aide Mountain Valley Living Center 1135 Taylor Road, Westfield, NC 27053 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with medication administration and ensuring the well-being of individuals in our care, particularly those in senior living and memory care environments. This position requires a strong understanding of physiology and the ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities. Duties Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and regulations. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of medication administration using electronic health record systems, such as Epic. Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns to nursing staff. Assist with daily living activities for residents, ensuring their comfort and safety. Collaborate with nursing staff to develop individualized care plans that address the specific needs of each resident. Participate in training sessions and continuing education opportunities to stay current on best practices in medication administration and senior care. Skills Knowledge of physiology and pharmacology related to medication administration. Experience working in senior care settings, such as nursing homes or memory care facilities. Familiarity with medical records systems, particularly Epic, is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to work compassionately with individuals who have developmental disabilities. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to ensure accurate medication management.
