MEDICATION AIDE

Part-Time, Days – (7a-7p)

Job Description:

Administers medication as directed in the MedicationAdministration policies and procedures manual except injections,medication given by g-tube or nasogastic tubes and IVmedications. Performs job duties ethically and morally; practices goodleadership skills. Performs procedures such as vital signs, giving enemas andsuppositories, etc. Performs universal precaution and hazardous chemical proceduresin order to keep residents and staff safe. Performs documentation and reports ay medication errorsimmediately. Counts controlled substance medications, gives/takes reportsand follows proper sign-in, sign-off procedures when changingshifts.

Job Requirements:

Registered on the NA1 registry with no allegations of abuse orneglect. Successfully complete the state approved training programincluding competency evaluation and facility orientationprogram. Ability to read, see, hear, and speak adequately to perform theessential job responsibilities. Ability to crouch, stand, bend, stoop, and walk intermittentlyduring the workday.
