The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and accurate administration of medications to patients, particularly in settings that require specialized care such as memory care and acute care facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical records, anatomy, and the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities Administer medications to patients as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain detailed medical records for each patient, documenting medication administration and any observed changes in condition. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents, particularly those in memory care or acute care settings. Provide care and support for patients requiring additional assistance with personal hygiene and comfort. Monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions to medications, reporting any concerns to nursing staff promptly. Assist in training new staff on medication administration protocols and best practices within the facility. Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Requirements Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving medication administration or direct patient care. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is highy desirable. Experience working with seniors who live in a community setting Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are necessary for maintaining accurate medical records.
